Important New Information About the Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery Series.
Anyone following the Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery Series saga is aware that from production to publication the project has been fraught with difficulties, thanks mostly to a low-end, low-life distribution service called Filmhub. Now, with the help of Alex Nohe and Jeff Dowd at Blood Sweat Honey, the hit documentary series is back on track.
In The Beginning
After successfully releasing the first two movies of the Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery, series, things began to go awry.
First, while trying to upload part III Remote Viewed, Filmhub decided to change its software and basically went offline for three weeks. Naturally, all my attempts to upload my movie data to Filmhub for distribution were unsuccessful, thanks to repeated errors in their software they could not explain.
Second, Filmhub’s quality control completely rejected the final movie in the series, the best and most important because it contains actual scientific data. With no reason whatsoever they decided to destroy the entire series with their rejection.
When I asked for help, a twenty-something with a torn shirt, blue hair and a nose ring told me it was pointless to complain, she was the only one who saw my messages. She told me Filmhub didn’t need me and if I wanted help to sign up for their paid service.
Subsequently, I tried to get around her by sending a letter in the mail to their CEO. Shortly thereafter, my account was blocked, my money stolen, and access to all my records denied.
Filmhub told me if I contacted them they would send their attorneys after me. After speaking with an attorney, I was told there was little I could do as far as getting my tax records or the money they had received from streaming services like Tubi and Apple TV.
Suddenly, three years of work and what appeared to be actual Bigfoot and Alien contact was down the drain. With the exception of posting them for free on YouTube, and who wants to do that, my movies were no longer accessible to the public.
Enter Alex Nohe and Jeff Dowd
I immediately contacted a number of streaming services, offering my movies directly to them. What I found it quite quickly was that Filmhub was one of the only distributors that took any movie and charged a 20% fee. What is apparent now that was not apparent then was that Filmhub was taking their share along with whatever the streaming service was willing to pay and I had no say in those negotiations.
When I contacted Peter at Bayview Entertainment, he told me their slate was full but that I should definitely contact Alex Nohe and Jeff Dowd at Blood Sweat Honey. Alex Nohe has an extensive background in programming as well as promotions and has worked with some of the film industries best. Alex is also no stranger to the life of the producer, having produced Burning Man the Burning Sensation back in 2003.
For anyone who doesn’t know Jeff Dowd, he was only a founding member of the Sundance Film Festival and Institute. He has worked with almost every major director and was one of the original Seattle 7 During the Nixon Administration. If that isn’t enough, Jeff, according to the Blood Sweat Honey website, was the Coen Brother’s inspiration for the Big Lebowski.
A New Vision
Once I had spoken with Alex, I understood trying to get my movies platformed was never going to work. What I needed was someone who could not only get a foot in the door, but who could get me to the negotiating table with the services who were streaming my videos. Filmhub’s system of arbitrarily accepting whatever a service was willing to give wasn’t conducive to profits.
Alex told me he would take a look at my documentaries. Then, he and Jeff would make a decision. They would decide whether or not to represent me and my movies. They would pitch to the various streaming services and platforms in Hollywood and around the world. I agreed and let Alex purvey my handiwork. With the fate of what I believe are some of the most important documentaries ever made hanging in the balance.
Seal Of Approval
Almost one nerve wracking week later, Alex sent me an email. He asked if I had time for a meeting either by phone or over Zoom. I assumed if he were going to give me the old “not right for us” bit, he wouldn’t do it by having an actual meeting. After all, if someone like Alex and Jeff had seen the potential for the Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery that I saw, that was a Big Deal.
I was right. It was a big deal. Alex and Jeff and had accepted my submission. Alex even went so far as to complement me. One example was for the tension I created for the polygraph and hypnotherapy sessions in Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery IV Blood Trails.
“The top streaming movies have UFO’s and paranormal topics. There is definitely a market for your documentaries. We can give you a lot more exposure and we can let you participate in negotiations,” Alex Nohe explained. “Your movies appeal to a broad spectrum of viewers. They’re looking for something outside of the same old Hollywood experience.”
Since Jeff had worked on the Blair Witch Project promotions, we talked a little about the potential. The Blood Mystery was a real paranormal event with scientific, social and political implications. Alex has an extensive background in the topic matter of the documentaries. Of course, the meeting was very rewarding, to say the least.
New Names, New Looks, New Hope
Upon our first consultation, Alex made it clear we need to get a few things done. Naturally, it was never clear how many movies would result from the Cascade Bigfoot Blood Mystery. At least, until I decided it was necessary to make a 4th documentary.
A Big Player Enters The Scene
A few weeks later, Jeff contacted my with an offer from one of the big players in movie distribution. Until a later date, I am not at liberty to discuss who the player is. This is according to our signed agreement. However, they also saw the potential for a worldwide viewing audience and sent me some new artwork. Once I saw how serious and motivated they are, I knew we’d have a winning documentary series available for streaming.
