June 2021. Deep in the Northern Cascade Mountains of Washington State.
Russian Bigfoot researcher Igor Burtsev and I were camped together, deep in Sasquatch country. We had spent the day in the field. When we returned to the tent after being away for just a few hours, something was waiting for us.
Blood Mystery
Not a trail. Not a smear from an injury. A large pool the size of your cell phone. Right there in the center of the tent floor. It wasn’t there when I got up and went out to cook breakfast.
After a quick check, I was thankful that pool wasn’t from an over itched mosquito bite.

I cleaned it up with a paper towel. It looked like blood. Fresh enough to raise every hair on the back of my neck.

In that moment, a thought crossed my mind that I kept to myself for a long time: Did Igor put it there?
It seemed impossible. We were together. We were in the middle of nowhere. There was no obvious way anyone else could have entered the tent without us knowing. But the blood was real. And it had no explanation.
That single discovery didn’t just end the day. It started something much bigger.
