One thing that may be apparent to a lot of viewers while watching the movie in the few scenes I appeared on camera, I am stooped over. The cause of my inability to stand, walk, drive or even move without severe back pain was the result of sitting in my truck in Darrington, Washington doing absolutely nothing.

Should I Stay, Or Should I Go?

It was then, I had to make a critical decision. I had originally planned to film in June, but since I was running for US Congress at the time, I thought it might be better to wait until after the Primary Election.

That meant I had a window of one or two weeks in August to do my filming and interviews. I decided I had to push on to Chewelah, excruciating pain and all, or not do the documentary this year.

Originally, I was not sure what exactly KS Brooks would have to contribute to my Squatchumentary, but, I thought it made add a definite air of credibility to the documentary.

Another Natural Story Teller Adds Mystery To The Mix

When I set up and turned the cameras on, KS Brooks, an author herself, lit up the screen with her lively accounts and experiences, all the while maintaining a level of objectivity.

By that I mean, she was more convincing of there being a Bigfoot in her attempts to be objective and repeatedly say, ”I just don’t know.”

The Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival A Time For Community

My participation in the Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival began rather surreptitiously one day last April. It was then that I received an inquiry of sorts from Marblemount Bigfoot Festival Organizer, Syvella Khalil.

Syvella was inquiring as to whether or not I had plans to attend the Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival.

Metaline Falls? Where is Metaline Falls?

I had never heard of Metaline Falls. I had heard of Bigfoot however, as Bigfoot is the second element in my aliens, Bigfoot and Dogman podcast.

So, naturally, I said yes.

It was my agreement to attend the festival that opened up a world heretofore unknown to me. I am talking about the world of Eastern Washington Bigfoot.

Before the festival was over I would be exposed to a list of characters and events I would not soon forget.

There were people like festival organizer Bill Bisson, a community leader of the town of Metaline.

I would learn there is a Metaline and a Metaline Falls and that he was running for mayor of the latter.

That however, is another story.

Documentary For 2

When I left for Metaline Falls, it was my intention to film two documentaries.

But I would end up with more, a lot more than just outstanding footage and subjects.

I would find partners for a tour business I have always wanted to start.

Then, I would meet a Russian Bigfoot researcher and watch him turn a ten minute interview into an hour long discussion about everything but Bigfoot.

After that, I would interview all the Bigfoot personalities from Bob Gimlin and Ken Gerhard to Igor Burtsev and Tom Sewid.

All week, I would meet wonderful new friends.

For three days and nights I would camp in one of the most beautiful areas with a swimming/fish pond.

I would learn about betrayal and what it means to “follow the chopper.”

During the festival, a heat wave hit the state. Every day the temperature climbed into the one hundreds.

In spite of it all, the Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival was a huge success.

Bigfoot fans and lovers listened to their favorite speakers and researchers.

Vendors and the local community made record profits.

The actual turnout of the festival exceeded expectations by almost two thousand.

A Time For Community

In the end, I would see what it was for a small community to come together for the sake of keeping their community alive.

It was this spirit that I captured and am turning into a real live squatchumentary in 4K called The Metaline Falls Bigfoot Festival A Squatchumentary.

The newly released Vimeo documentary, Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest by Extreme Expeditions LLC out of Spokane Washington is breath of fresh air when it comes to Bigfoot documentaries.

Encounters USA has had the opportunity over the past two weeks to take a closer look at the material Stephen T. Major of Extreme Expeditions LLC has been producing and they seem to look pretty good.

Let me first confess ignorance to what Stephen was doing with his Extreme Expeditions Northwest LLC, a company which is dedicated to producing irrefutable proof of the Sasquatch species.

Second, let me also confess that I have no financial interest in what Stephen T. Major is doing with Extreme Expeditions and I am not profiting in any way from this post.

With the exception that you are reading this blog and review and hopefully learning something new, of course.

Lastly, let me confess that were I to be asked to accompany Stephen T. Major on any of his Extreme Expeditions, I would have my things packed before I hung up the phone. I think Stephen and his band of merry men and women have it going on.

If a little a– kissing can get me on an Extreme Expeditions project, I’ve got a whole thing of chapstick.

So this is not just a review of Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest.

It’s a review of a group of researchers and their approach to hunting Bigfoot. It’s an approach that I happen to agree with, for the most part.

Burning Bigfoot Bridges

Let’s get some things out of the way first. I don’t agree with everything Stephen does and this one area I think he could work to improve.

The fact is, you cannot watch much of Stephen T. Major’s Bigfoot Hunting material online without hearing a summary of why Extreme Expeditions is different than your usual Bigfoot media productions.

In fact, in the words of Stephen T. Major, his objective in finding conclusive evidence of Bigfoot is to put the Bigfoot TV shows out of business.

“They’re always close to finding Bigfoot but they never find Bigfoot…”

Of course, there are few loftier or nobler goals than putting the Bigfoot TV productions on the public dole.

However, I would almost argue the people who are keeping the public spotlight on the hunt for Bigfoot are doing a great service.

Unlike Stephen Major, I think the Bigfoot shows are doing an even bigger service by not trying to find Bigfoot, rather they are searching out that corporate sponsorship worth millions.

That keeps you watching and buying and them advertising while making mucho dinero.

You won’t see Encounters USA blatantly merchandising and commercializing the hunt for the Paranormal

Cascade Bigfoot

Before we jump off into our review, a little about Bigfoot in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State, Canada and Idaho.

This region is some of the most inaccessible wilderness in the world.

Rugged majestic mountains, triple canopy vegetation and forests that extend hundreds of miles. Like much of Washington State, it’s a jungle with big mountains.

Since starting Encounters USA, I have made dozens investigations in a number of areas from the Snoqualmie Valley to Baker Lake, just south of the dormant Mt. Baker volcano.

I’m still working on more sightings and Encounters, west of the Cascades. Colville is east of the Cascade chain that separates Eastern and Western Washington.

The Bigfoot Highway

Just imagine the northern third of Washington State as an inaccessible No Man’s Land split in half by massive mountain peaks.

In my experiences, the road called Washington Highway 20 is really the Bigfoot Highway. That Highway extends all the way to Colville in Stevens County in the eastern Cascades. What’s so important about Colville?

Bue Who Is On The Expedition Team?

You know who. It’s Amy Bue. I have seen two Extreme Expeditions. I saw In Search of the Port Chatham Hairy man and this one. In each documentary, Stephen Major had an accompanying biologist.

Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest featured Amy Bue, an investigator from Ohio. Amy is a teacher who works with a number of zoology and animal awareness groups.

She’s also a member of the Olympic Project. The Olympic Mountains in Washington State where I grew up have their own unique Sasquatch stories.

Amy brought an open mind and was not there to serve as the on site skeptic. She gave honest appraisals of what she saw.

Beans Baxter

Beans Baxter, who some will recall from the Port Chatham Hairy Man movie. Others from my interview about his book Abandoned: The Horror and History of Port Chatham, Alaska is also featured prominently in the documentary.

Will Ulmer’s Research

The basis for the location was local resident Will Ulmer. Ulmer related a number of experiences he has had in the area and they are somewhat disturbing. A creature approached his tent one night and tried to smash it down from the top.

A good portion of the movie centers around Will Ulmer’s ability to track and identify potential Sasquatch trails. They produced at least one plaster of a narrow 13″ footprint.

During the investigation a number of bear tracks were seen, which contrasted with what Will Ulmer seemed to be identifying as Sasquatch.

Refutable Evidence

As much as the investigation started with all the confidence of finding the evidence they were looking for, what they did find was dubious at best. Anyone could have argued about the footprints or torn bark on a tree.

There are other explanations for so-called structures made out of dead trees with or without roots.

All of this evidence is easily refutable as something other than what the Extreme Expeditions team accepted it as.

What cannot be refuted is that they were all there, in the same location, along with something else.

Irrefutable Evidence

Anyone viewing the documentary is going to see something amazing. Everyone who watches Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest is going to come away with their own ideas about what happened on the Expedition and what evidence was discovered.

I believe in Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest, we found evidence Bigfoot likes a good prank or two, too.

After watching the movie, I came away with an appreciation for the Sasquatch community outside of Colville, Washington.

Here’s why:

  • Imagine that an individual Sasquatch has the intelligence of a primate, homo sapiens, or above.
  • The Sasquatch clan knew Extreme Expeditions was there.
  • It would have taken little time to determine they were not hunters.
  • The Sasquatch would have known they were hunting for something.
  • It wouldn’t take a lot of intelligence for the Sasquatch to realize Extreme Expeditions were hunting for them.
  • For the Sasquatch clan, it was game on.

By the end of the movie it is obvious who won that round.

To conclude this review of Extreme Expedition’s 2019 Colville and Stevens County extravaganza, I would like to quote someone somewhere in the movie. I believe Stephen said something like, “We added more evidence to our understanding of Bigfoot.”

I believe in Bigfoot Encounters in the Pacific Northwest, we found evidence Bigfoot likes a good prank or two, too.

In Heinessight

Nevertheless, with the benefit of Heinessight, I think I saw a few areas in the documentary that need further investigation. I hope the next time Stephen T. Major fires up the Extreme Expeditions mobile, the Encounters USA ‘Yoda is right behind.

Lastly, I could not do this review of the movie without acknowledging the amazing video work and drone footage of Martin Media. The excellent drone, video and camera shots of the forests, lakes and other scenery alone make the movie worth watching.

At one point, the creatures (or someone) literally drew a line in the sand, or stream.

The behavior Rich Germeau encountered demonstrates a number of intellectual and territorial aspects that go beyond the behaviors at Harstine Island and, if true, provide psychological insights into these creatures that cannot be ignored.

On June 21, 1947 six UFO’s reportedly flew over Harold Dahl’s boat near Maury Island, a few miles from Tacoma, Washington. One of the craft, they noticed, was flying erratically.

When it got over their boat, the wobbling craft ejected some kind of molten material that steamed when it hit the water.

The ejected material injured his son’s arm and killed the Dahl’s dog. The UFO was then bumped by one of its counterparts and then flew away. This is where the story really gets bizarre. We explain the myths and the mysteries, and we ask a lot more questions than anyone has asked, so far.

On Encounters USA we will review the latest movie where Bob Lazar talks about his experiences 30 years later. In 1989, Bob Lazar came out and told the world what many people had been waiting to hear since the end of World War II.

The United States has extraterrestrial craft in its possession and is actively engineering technology based upon the technology they have discovered. Instead a of a world changing revelation, Bob Lazar found out was the world is not what it would seem.

Rather, the people in it have become dependent upon a government and media that justifies itself and the control it exerts based upon lies, by perpetuating the lies and destroying anyone who reports anything contrary to thought dictatorship of the corporation/government state and its lapdog media.

What Bob Lazar found was that instead of a being a hero, he became less than zero. Thirty years later we find out what influenced his decision, that his harassment continues and that he regrets his decision to try to save the world. Is this a new story to anyone?

The Joint Project – On the Hunt to Communicate with Aliens, Bigfoot and Dogman

For the first time ever, three investigative teams who respectively, pursue Aliens, Bigfoot and Dogman are coming together united in a single purpose –  to find conclusive evidence of Aliens, Bigfoot and Dogman. Enter the UFO iTeam, the American Primate Conservancy and the North American Dogman Project. In layman’s terms, we’re going on the hunt to communicate with aliens, Bigfoot and Dogman.

The whole idea is the brain child of podcast Encounters USA creator, host and author of this blog, Matthew Heines. “I work with the three different groups. I interview them and I go to the field with them. It just makes sense to pool resources. With the hardware these guys are packing, it’s real hard to hide. In 2020 the hunt is on.” 

Can Three Historically Separate Groups Come Together to do Research?

Well, at least in theory. Can three disparate groups, some of whom are and have been at odds with one another unite for a few days for an operation out into the wild territories of Washington State?

On Friday, December 13, Encounters USA will be airing a podcast and YouTube video that is more a less the litmus test on whether such a project can go forward.

“We are going to use technology to meet and see if the three groups once properly introduced, can agree on a location, first of all. Then we will need to establish a time and a list of locations each group wishes to maintain. 

Technology, Location and Organization are the Keys to Success

With this many people and resources, we are going to be talking about covering entire valleys from ridge to river. We are going to have to establish communications, our own set of codes and above all, have plans in place for safety and support to all outposts.

The key is to keep everything as simple as possible. Make a plan and stick to it. Things will come up, that way we can be flexible if the need arises.
